Editor’s note: We’re delighted to introduce you to our newest team members. Each one looks forward to meeting our wonderful partners and supporters.
Carolina Garcia, Receptionist/Administrative Assistant
“One of the nicest aspects of my new job is being able to meet all the wonderful families, volunteers and partners. I’m one of the first people to greet visitors when they come through the doors at the Dan Donahue Center. I also assist other staff members with projects and help guide parents to the right team members to answer their questions. I’m so inspired when I see how KidWorks has such a positive impact on the families and community we serve. I want to become even more involved! A recent experience of mine outside of work was a visit to Yosemite, where I successfully challenged myself to hike up one of the waterfalls. It was amazing to be so immersed in nature.”
Cesar Ledesma, Program Leader—Dan Donahue Center
“I’m actually not entirely new to KidWorks. I was a volunteer while attending California State University, Fullerton. I fell in love with the organization, and I’m so glad to be part of the team, helping our students in any way I can. I aspire to be that person in their lives who shows them that there are no limits in life. I also have a part-time job teaching leadership lessons to elementary school students, as well as being involved with another program working with high school sports and dance teams. Outside of work, I love staying active by playing basketball, exercising and traveling. A fun fact about me is that I weighed less than a pound at birth, and not expected to live more than a few minutes. But I’m 22-years-old and proof that anyone can overcome and succeed!”
SueLynn Kim, Fund Development Associate
“I’m very excited to work with the amazing people at KidWorks who are so dedicated to improving lives in Santa Ana. As part of the development team, I’m focused on introducing more donors to KidWorks, explaining our mission and increasing engagement. It’s so gratifying to be part of KidWorks at a time when we’re growing and able to serve even more families in the community. Before joining KidWorks, I spent a little over three years as a development associate at a nonprofit called Giving Children Hope. In my spare time, I enjoy time with my husband, making future travel plans, cooking, trying out new foods, enjoying the outdoors and songwriting.”
