For many years, KidWorks has recognized the need to provide more spiritual mentorship and direction to our students.
Franklin Montoya is the answer to that prayer! As KidWorks newest youth coordinator, he is charged with shepherding our youth through Bible studies, teen gatherings, and other special events all designed to point students to Christ.
"I am excited about working directly with the youth and building leaders for tomorrow. I’m excited about sharing the word of God with students that may have never heard about the love and hope in Jesus Christ." says Franklin
Franklin’s passion is mentoring youth. Prior to coming to KidWorks, he worked on staff at Destino, the Hispanic ministry through CRU (Campus Crusade for Christ) at CS Long Beach. He has also served as a youth pastor for over a decade at his local church.
“My vision is to see youth that are empowered to be positive role models in their communities. I am envisioning youth that are led by love and hope, who desire to see their communities transformed. I see youth that are radically changed through Jesus Christ.” says Franklin.
Like many KidWorks students, Franklin is the first in his family to graduate from college. As a business major, he participated in a variety of prestigious corporate internships which gave him a broad insight to the business world. However, he quickly discovered that his true passion was working with students. In addition to working at CRU, he has also worked as a high school teacher.
He also enjoys travel and has participated in several missions trips. “I love getting new perspectives from all over the world. I recently came back from a mission trip in N. Africa, where I had the privilege of sharing the love of Jesus Christ with a Muslim nation said Franklin.”
Please help us welcome Franklin to KidWorks!
