Join KidWorks on December 1st for Giving Tuesday, “a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.”

Once again, KidWorks is raising funds for youth nights, a staple of our programming. Each year, students look forward to gathering at events including the Lock-In, Galentines, the Turkey Bowl and Friday night hangouts.

With COVID and virtual learning, youth gatherings are more important than ever.  Our youth need more opportunities to socialize, build friendships and gather in the safe, wholesome environment that KidWorks provides.

COVID has forced KidWorks to creatively restructure its youth programs to keep our youth safely engaged.  Funds raised on Giving Tuesday will cover the cost of pizzas (a staple at youth nights), event supplies and prizes.

Some events and programs have moved online, such as virtual prom, a Halloween celebration and Zoom movie nights. Students look forward to an upcoming painting party, online Thanksgiving feast, and a gingerbread house making contest.

Other youth events have been altered to include proper social distancing. Early this fall, our high school seniors gathered for their senior year launch party and they have outdoor activities scheduled for the coming months.

Yosely OCampo has been a KidWorks’ student since preschool.  She is grateful for the social opportunities KidWorks has provided during COVID.

“Youth nights are one of the only opportunities for me to connect, see my friends and teachers at KidWorks.  I wouldn’t miss them for the world” shares Yosely.

There are several ways to support KidWorks’ youth programs on GivingTuesday:

  • Share KidWorks GivingTuesday posts on your social media and blog pages (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.).

  • Consider hosting an online fundraiser for upcoming holidays (such as a birthday, anniversary, baptism, bar/bat mitzvah, holiday, etc.).

Your donation on Giving Tuesday will keep our youth engaged and their programs funded.

Giving Tuesday is significantly important because KidWorks faces a million dollar shortfall due to cancelled fundraising events.

In 2019, the GivingTuesday organization reports that $1,970,000,000 was raised in the U.S.  KidWorks’ generous supporters raised over $10,000 last year. Together, we can make this year an even greater success.
