Summer 2022 at KidWorks was jam-packed with opportunities for new experiences and adventure.
Every activity intentionally centered around our theme of “Growth Mindset” challenging students to think ‘I can do this,’ when trying something new.
We are so grateful to offer summer programs that equipped students with life skills, a renewed sense of confidence and empowerment to create meaningful change in their communities.
Our theme verse fit, 2 Timothy 1:7 aligned perfectly with the growth mindset focus this summer.
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
“It was great to see to see everyone memorizing our summer Bible verse and putting that verse into action,” says Jacky Hernandez, our Program Administration Lead.
Enrichment experiences were also a larger focus this summer. KidWorks offered several workshops including a drum clinic, a theater and soccer event, arts and crafts, plus wellness, financial literacy and college/career workshops.
“Watching students blossom through theater, truly warmed my heart . It was amazing watching them grow throughout the process. They were able to muster up the courage to stand and perform for all of their parents and showcase all their newfound talent that they’d worked so hard to develop.” ~Lana Lee, Find Your Light (Musical Theatre enrichment)
KidWorks partners played an invaluable role in all the fun activities that took place. We couldn’t have done it without them.
“The week was a blast and definitely felt like a success. Not only did the kids improve in their soccer skills, but they remembered our theme points for each day and incorporated them into the sessions. These themes were Gratitude, Purpose and Love. All within a biblical context.”
~ Bay Kurtz, Faith n Futbol (soccer enrichment)
