Attention KidWorks Prayer Warriors! We have transitioned from providing educational and mentoring programs to basic necessities to our students including food and toiletries. Now more than ever, we covet your prayers for the students, families and programs of KidWorks.
Praise Report:
Praise God that we have faithful partners walking alongside KidWorks during this difficult season. We are grateful to partner with Bracken's Kitchen, LoveCommunity Food Bank and Second Harvest to distribute 32,820 lbs of food to our families over the past two weeks. Our friends from a local church in Irvine sewed face masks for our staff to wear during food distribution days. Praise God that we have faithful partners walking alongside KidWorks during this difficult season.
Prayers for Families:
Pray for peace of mind for our families amidst uncertainty. The hardest hit by COVID-19 are those who are already vulnerable and marginalized. Fears about jobs, food and health are at top of mind and are causing lack of sleep for our parents.
Prayers for Students:
Pray for the stress and anxiety levels of our students. Online education is proving to be a challenge because students struggle find a quiet space to study and lack of internet and technology makes it difficult to complete assignments.
Prayers for Staff:
Pray for the health and strength of KidWorks staff who are on the front lines doing check-ins and helping with food distribution. Our staff are the only trusted resource for our families in the neighborhoods we serve. This is both physically and emotionally taxing on our staff.
